Diversity Network Planners Breakfast Did you know that APA Virginia’s own Ethnic and Cultural Diversity Committee will be recognized by the APA at the National Planning Conference in Minneapolis? Come to the Diversity Network Planners Breakfast and find out why.

Please join the Ethnic and Cultural Diversity Committee for its first Diversity Network Planners Breakfast of 2009 in Norfolk. We will have Rick Cunningham, R.A., F.SAME, Senior Vice President and National Sales Manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff discuss his fascinating career in Engineering, Architecture, and Marketing. Mr. Cunningham is also active with Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) and is helping Parsons Brinckerhoff to make new partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

A continental breakfast will be served. Admittance is free, but seating is limited. Please RSVP by March 12.

The date:
Thursday, March 19, 2009

The time:
Registration 8:15 AM
8:30 AM – 10 AM

The place:
The Training Room at the offices of Parsons Brinckerhoff
6161 Kempsville Circle, Suite 110, Norfolk, VA, 23502

Take the Newtown Road (south) exit from I-264. Right on Kempsville. Left at 2nd or 3rd traffic signal. (from Hampton, take the Newtown Road exit. Do NOT take the I-264 exit)

The Ethnic and Cultural Diversity Committee is the first state chapter diversity committee. We promote an open forum in the undergraduate and graduate programs as well as in the work place within the Commonwealth. The Committee is focused on diversity, not minority, issues, and addresses issues pertaining to (but not exclusive to) the diversity groups within the APA (Planning and the Black Community, Women in Planning, Latinos and Planning, Gays and Lesbians in Planning).

Please RSVP to Joseph Curtis and Leon Hughes at ecdc@apavirginia.org.
