What's in Your Toolbox? Dialogues, Tips and Techniques for Today's Planner

Wintergreen Resort, July 20-22, 2011

Conference Details

Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for each session, the keynote address, and Diversity Summit were approved from AICP. Law and Ethics courses were granted for the Ethics and Legislative update sessions.

We hope that you enjoyed joining us in our continuing efforts in Making Great Communities Happen! We had an excellent selection of sessions lined up for the over 300 planners, zoning officials, engineers, designers, and development professionals expected to attend.

Planning touches almost every aspect of everyday life. The APA Virginia Conference is an excellent opportunity to network and meet others in the land planning industry as well as community development, economic development, historic preser-vation, architecture, transportation, housing, education, politics, and recreation. We will have an opening reception, diversity reception, university program reception, and the annual awards presentation.

If you were paying by check, print your confirmation form and mail the form and check written to APA Virginia to Chapter Office, 2231 Oak Bay Lane, Richmond, VA 23233.

Mobile Workshop: Development Patterns: Old, New, and Emerging in Nelson, Albemarle, and Waynesboro. This workshop showcases how growth management and economic development strategies affect new development and redevelopment patterns in three adjacent jurisdictions.  In all three localities, particular emphasis will be paid to how each jurisdiction’s policies indirectly affect the other localities from a commercial and residential development as well as economic/ tourism development perspective.

Obtain Guest Passes for the Wednesday night Opening Reception at the Lookout and Discovery Ridge Adventure Dome. Let the family enjoy the buffet, games, trampolines, bull riding, fire circle, climbing wall, etc. etc. at this family fun reception.

Want to Get Your Name Out to the planners from throughout Virginia, then sponsor an event or get an exhibitor table at the conference. There are a variety of levels for sponsorship and exhibiting at the conference. Take a look!
