The U.S Census Bureau offers a wealth of information to planners working in a variety of fields, but recent changes in the way census data products are organized and accessed raises new questions about how they can best be utilized. This presentation will offer a brief introduction to the American Community Survey and show users how to maximize their use of the data source with accuracy and depth. Learn how to decide which Census dataset you need, work with margins of error, measure changes over time for multiyear estimates, and use the new American Factfinder interface.

Presenters: Susan Clapp, Statistician for the University of Virginia
Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service
